Heating, Cooling, and Ventilation Solutions in Industrial Greenhouses

Professional HVAC and Climate Solutions

The success of an industrial greenhouse depends on the harmony between the plant's biological clock and engineering precision. No matter how sturdy a greenhouse structure is, if the internal air circulation and thermal balance are not managed correctly, the expected high yield remains just a dream.

As İska Greenhouse Systems, we design heating, cooling, and ventilation (HVAC) not merely as a mechanical installation, but as the "lungs" of the greenhouse. Our professional solutions transform extreme external weather conditions into a flawless spring climate for the plant, ensuring consistent growth 365 days a year.

1. Smart Heating Solutions: Maximum Thermal Efficiency

Heating is the largest item in operational expenses (OPEX). Therefore, our primary engineering goal is not just to generate heat, but to deliver it to the plant's root and canopy zones in the most efficient, lossless way possible.

  • Pipe Rail Heating Systems: Hot water pipes serve a dual purpose: providing homogenous heating and acting as rails for harvest carts. By keeping the heat directly near the plant root zone, energy loss is minimized.
  • Geothermal and Waste Heat Integration: Depending on regional resources, geothermal energy or waste heat from industrial facilities is incorporated into the system, radically reducing both the carbon footprint and fuel costs.
  • Thermal (Energy) Screens: Specially woven screens that prevent up to 50% of heat loss during the night act as a giant thermal blanket, preserving the temperature inside the greenhouse.

2. Active and Passive Cooling Systems

In hot climate zones, keeping the greenhouse cool can be more challenging than heating it. To prevent plant thermal stress, we utilize high-performance cooling technologies:

Pad-Fan (Evaporative Cooling) System: This operates on the principle of air being cooled by evaporation as it passes through specialized cellulose pads at one end of the greenhouse, while strong axial fans at the other end pull this cool air throughout the structure. This system can drop the temperature by 10-12 degrees instantly.

High-Pressure Fogging: Micron-sized water droplets sprayed into the air at 70-100 bar pressure undergo "flash evaporation," stabilizing the ambient temperature rapidly without wetting the foliage or fruit.

3. Ventilation and Air Circulation Management

Proper ventilation manages not only the temperature but also relative humidity and CO2 balance. Stagnant air is the biggest invitation for crop diseases; therefore, air movement is a critical parameter.

  • Butterfly-Type Roof Vents: Aerodynamic designs that allow hot air to rise naturally and exit the structure, maximizing the air exchange rate inside the greenhouse.
  • Circulation Fans (Horizontal and Vertical): These prevent air stratification (thermal layers). By ensuring equal temperature in every corner, they minimize the risk of fungal diseases such as Botrytis.
  • Advanced Dehumidification Units: In closed-loop production, these units prevent excessive humidity from halting plant transpiration and ensure stomata remain open for growth.

Ideal Micro-Climate with an Engineering Touch

As İska Greenhouse Systems, we analyze the region's prevailing wind direction, annual sun angle, and the specific requirements of the crop to install the most optimized HVAC facility. These systems work in full integration with automation, ensuring "harvest abundance" prevails inside your greenhouse regardless of the freezing cold or scorching heat outside.
